Earlier every year

I am that person you hate. The one that loves to celebrate Christmas incredibly early. I am the person that retailers cater to the week before Halloween when they have pulled out their Christmas wares. Oh yes.

I am going to try and stretch out the decorating this year. We have a lovely (albeit small) Christmas tree up and I also strategically placed a tiny arrangement of lights on a Lego house I built over the summer (there is no reason plastic people cannot enjoy the yuletide festivities). I'll have you know I am downright chipper right now. Oh the joy!

You make me physically ill. Just a little bit. Not all the way, but just a tad.

That's okay because secretly you would be really worried if I started hating or ignoring Christmas. So, you're welcome. :)

Katie I love your Christmas spirit! I've been noticing some houses around here with their outdoor decorations up... seems a little early, but these are actually the ones who were smart enough to put them out before it got so cold that it's miserable to be outside on a ladder trying to hang lights on the eaves with ungloved hands.

Pretty please can we see a picture of the Lego house???

That was me who deleted... I found some spelling errors. Here is the corrected version...

Ugh, I do not like to start celebrating Christmas until I have celebrated the other 2 holidays that come before it (Halloween and Thanksgiving). Seriously, Thanksgiving (aka: the best holiday ever) is going to become pre-Christmas. It is nothing against the people who love starting early on Christmas. I just get annoyed at the marketing. It is the overwhelming marketing campaign that completely runs my Christmas spirit. This coming from a person who used to love Christmas until it was shoved down my throat for 2 months.

Also, I think all of the commercial interests ruin the entire point of celebrating... we forget the meaning of the holiday.

Okay, that is my rant. I feel like I should end it with a bah, humbug.

P.S.-- I would like to note that I will have Christmas spirit the day AFTER Thanksgiving when I put up our Christmas tree, ornaments and all.

Duly noted, Peyton. I love Christmas for the joy it brings me not really for the commercialism.

I shall post a picture of the Lego house post haste.

I know... your holiday spirit is genuine (and contagious)... I am already getting geared up for my tree. I wish you were here for Thanksgiving this year to help me put it up (I fear I may be alone in my efforts since Jamie despises holiday decorations).

The Lego house sounds insanely awesome...I love decorating for Christmas too. Why not stretch it out, it's such a happy time and only comes once a year!
