I have good intentions...

I really do mean to post more, but life seems to get in the way.

I continue to settle into the new job. I think I am having the normal feelings anyone else has where they wonder if they are ready for the responsibility. I think I have them more because I happened to be in the right place at the right time and everyone knows it. It's not my fault my boss decided to retire early, but I think I can do this job and not make people miserable while I am at it. My personal life has taken a decidedly backseat position to everything else. I feel like I don't have nearly as much "laying about" time. You know how I love to sit on a couch and watch some TiVo. Sometimes I get home and can only watch one or two programs and then it is off to bed. What happened to the Katie of years before? I guess she got a lot more sh*t to do. What about everyone else out there? Peyton is getting married and we are having a little get together at the G-unit mansion in a few weeks so that should be fun. My old roommate from college is getting married in May so that is another wedding I will be attending. Woo. Hoo. That's about it. Hope all is well out in the virtual world!

Here's the Story....

Alright, so I said that there were major changes in the works. Let me review:

In the past month or so, I have...

Been to Las Vegas, Boca Raton, Miami, and Nashville

Someone that I know who I am quite fond of has been diagnosed with cancer. He is currently receiving treatment and I hope that you pray for him

I am probably being promoted at my job. Perhaps temporarily or it could be permanent. There will definitely be a probationary period, but it would mean I would be the boss for at least 3 months. Like the boss boss.

Vegas was awesome. The Beatles show was great and if you ever have a chance you should go.

Florida with the family was challenging. Spending that much time with family is always challenging. I did come home with a killer tan.

I am currently in Nashville for a work conference.

Life is exciting. I will probably post more tomorrow. Thanks for sticking with me

Do believe in you like they believe in you?

It seems to me that people generally have more faith in my abilities than I do. From what I can tell this is not all that unusual with regard to other people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a f*ck-up. I try hard most of the time, but get nervous about what is expected of me, particularly at work. I am gearing up for the biggest events of the year and the success or failure will reflect on me. It goes well, I get accolades...or...it bombs, I am in serious trouble. This is on my mind EVERY DAY. Every day for months. I guess I just need to express my insecurity. Okay, that's enough for now.

Okay, so...

First event not so much a success. The way I figure it, this just sets the bar really low and my next event will seem like a success. Um, yeah, so that's what I'm telling myself. It's okay, I had some comfort from friends and I feel alright about it. I will just have to learn from this and do things differently. Unfortunately my target demographic is a bit hard to reach and I will have to be extremely creative. Hmmm. Something to aim for.
