U-haul, Nashville, and beer coolers
I am heading to Nashville tomorrow for a quick jaunt to the homeland. I am only staying one night because I have to be at work at 4:45 a.m. on Thursday and the chances of me getting that shift filled are about as slim as you would imagine. As for my post title? U-haul sucks. All I got to say. As of right now (before I or my father have a long heart to heart with this awful company) I was charged approximately $500 to move myself from way far away Tuscaloosa to B'ham.
On another subject, you may ask yourself "why is she driving six hours for one night?" The answer: a beer cooler. Last summer Jenny and I went to the beach and she purchased the sweetest beer cooler ever, but it has been at my house for the past year. Yep, I'm not going to see the fam, friends or much else, just a soft beer cooler. This is no ordinary drink transporter. It can hold about a case of beer and a couple of bottles of water, plenty of ice, and it has a flap in the top so one does not have to open the entire thing to retrieve an adult beverage. Perfection. As I am heading to the beach next week it shall come in handy for sure. mmmm-mmmm.

Welcome to the blogosphere! (I feel like a cable news pundit saying that, but it seems appropriate.) If this cooler you mention is worth driving to Nashville and back to retreive, that is one special cooler and I can't wait to see it! Stay cool, see you soon.
Oh, Jamie, it is just that special. Just ask Jenny. I may have to pay a small user fee just to take it to the beach :)
Okay, it only cost Jamie and I approximately $250-300 to rent a U-Haul to move from Birmingham to Chicago- that is about 800 miles. There is no way it cost $500 to move from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham. You let them have it!
This beer cooler must be a gift sent from above if you are driving that far for it... I can't wait to see it!
Aha, the truth comes out. Not only are y'all going to the beach without me, but you're taking MY special cooler. You guys suck.
On the topic of moving, I just got a quote from Two Men & A Truck estimating that my move will cost approximately one thousand dollars.......Gasp....
Hey Jenny, you should say "screw work" and join us at the beach!
Jamie, seeing as how I rarely do work when at work, I am too guilt ridden to take time off. By showing up to work, I am able to convince myself that my presence in the office justifies the inflated salary that I receive. I do wish I was going though. Y'all are going to have fun, and I'm going to be jealous.
Jenny-
Maybe you could call in sick on Monday - Wednesday and then ride back with Sara on Wednesday. Of course, they may be suspicious if you come back with a tan...
Wow...$500 from Tuscaloosa to Bham. It was $650 from Houston to Bham and that was in a brand new air ride, fully automatic, a/c truck with about 3,000 miles on it.
Welcome to blogging!
Me? Tan? Ha ha.
