Oh, Yes, Hugh Jackman

This past weekend I went to see Wolverine with the roommie. I have wanted to see it ever since I saw the trailer where he emerges from the water all sorts of naked and muscle-y. The movie was full of eye candy and it didn't disappoint. In terms of a storyline it was no Iron Man and certainly no Dark Knight. That's okay, I wasn't really expecting a cinematic masterpiece. I think the next movie I am going to see is Star Trek. I believe hell hath frozen over because I would never have predicted that I would have an interest in anything having to do with Spock or Kirk. Just not my thing. My first cousins on my mom's side are big Trekkies and I could never understand it. The unattractive outfits, the elf ears, the strange hand gesture that I have to concentrate to make...eh, I never really got it. Now that Chris Pine has come on the scene, I believe I can get on board. He is one fine looking gentleman. I would love to be in a Hugh Jackman/Chris Pine sandwich. The only problem with that would be the gay vibe. I mean, would they start hooking up with each other? Not cool. Maybe I should just look at them as two separate pieces of cake that need to be consumed on different days. Hmmm. Ponder, ponder, ponder.

FYI

I bought tomatoes this morning from the farmer's market and they are the most beautiful, delicious, economical tomatoes that I have ever had. To accompany the fresh produce, I baked some bacon. Yes, baked. If you haven't done this then I suggest you do so. You lay it out on a cookie sheet and bake it for 15-20 min. at 400 degrees. It is just as crispy as traditionally cooked bacon without all the mess and risk of injury (from burning yourself from splatters). A little Dukes mayo, tomatoes and bacon and you have yourself THE perfect sandwich. Oh, and add a little salt and pepper. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM-mmmmmmmmm.

Mama Like

A little something to brighten your weekend. I was just watching the tail end of Just Friends. If you haven't seen this movie then you should. It is one of those movies that was probably in the theaters for five minutes, but it's really funny. It stars Ryan Reynolds (part of the reason for the picture above - right), Amy Smart, and Chris Klein. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Mid-vacay breakdown

Not much to really update, but I felt like writing. I took my car to get the emissions checked (required in the great state of Tennessee) and while waiting in the long line - it was two days before the end of the month so I should have expected it - I cleaned my sh*t hole of a vehicle. I haven't cleaned it in months...perhaps a year and it needed it. Dropped the car off at the Honda place and got a tune up and had them fix a few things on it. It rained all day today so I didn't do much, although dad and I went to this diner located inside of a Harley-Davidson store and it was awesome. Strange, but awesome. We had shrimp etoufee tonight and it was also delicious. My brother, sister-in-law, and I played Life (I guess it's a new trend?) and I lost. Coni won, but I have my suspicions that she was cheating. I have no proof, but I lost so it seems probable in my mind. Tomorrow I plan on hanging out with an old friend and her kids - my godchildren :)

BTW, The Tenth Circle was great. I started it late Wednesday night/Thursday morning and finished the last of it today. I would recommend it. Now, I have to find something else to read because I didn't bring anything else so that I would be forced to read my book. Hmmmm. I'll probably just read something I have stashed away in the house.

I like fondue, do you? Jenny, the bf, and I are (three cheers for the third wheel!) going to the Melting Pot for dinner and I'm a bit excited. I like cheese. I like meat. I like chocolate. I like cooking. It's all that I love in one place. Are you a fan?

Sweet, glorious heaven on earth

Am I discussing Disney World? Nah. I am discussing the fact that my roommie made homemade Ranch Dressing from a recipe that her chef boyfriend gave her. Dear Jesus, it is good. I got home and found it waiting in the fridge. I had not a cracker or chip in site, but I scrounged up some pretzels that were in the bottom of my Cheez-it Party Mix (which, btw, had been left over after a certain someone came to dogsit for Teddy and ate all the good stuff out of the box...) and tasted some of the most delicious dip ever. As soon as she gets home I am going to implore her to marry this man. Clearly anyone who can conjure up this deliciousness must have more up his sleeve. This man will not remain unhitched long...especially in the South. You know what they say about a southern girl and BJ's?

Between the Closer's Fritz (in the middle) and Saving Grace's Ham (I know, I know - far left) and Butch (once again, I know - far right) I am quite enjoying my Monday night television. I dare anything on network television to rival the quality of these shows (and their level of eye-candy). Enjoy the photos...

Man vs. Yummy

So, I have been a little under the weather this week and I took a sick day and left early two other days. This has given me a lot of time to sleep and catch up on channel-surfing. Channel surfing is something I used to do before Tivo, but it seems pointless these days. Anyway, with the extra time I was able to look around and I have discovered a delicious program: Man vs. Wild hosted by Bear Grylls. First off, his name is Bear. I think that is pretty hot. Second, he is hot. Third, he runs around in the woods, deserts, or other rough terrain which is also hot. You know what the best part is? Sometimes he gets wet in a really cold climate and according to Bear (yes, we're on a first name basis) the best thing to do is take off your clothes. The last episode I watched he took off his shirt and then did push-ups. Oh my. I really hadn't been running a fever...up until the point where his t-shirt came off. It almost makes me want to reconsider my first-waver theory so that I can survive the apocalypse and re-populate the earth with him and make little Bears...

Movie Review/Inappropriate Crush

I went to see Disturbia (http://www.disturbia.com) and it was an awesome movie. Definitely a thriller and parts of it were pretty scary. I give it a pretty big thumbs up! On another note, Shia LeBeoff is a hottie! I don't usually go for the young'uns, but I have decided to make an exception. He looked quite cute in the movie and several recent pictures of him have not disappointed. I am providing a picture so you can enjoy him as much as I do!
